Lovelock Records from Ireland

Image result for maps of counties in ireland

Irish records are not particularly well documented in on-line sources, and their nature is often fragmentary. This is partly because of a fire at Four Courts in Dublin in 1922 which destroyed all of the 1766 Religious Census and most of the Census Returns for 1821, 1831, 1841 and 1851. In addition the 1861 and 1871 Returns were destroyed shortly after they were collected, and the 1881 and 1891 Returns were pulped during the First World War. The data below is very probably only a fraction of the records covering Lovelock life events in Ireland that were originally compiled, and much of what is here probably has a military connection at some point.

Be that as it may, there are no Lovelocks or Lovelucks recorded in the 1911 Census according to The National Archives of Ireland Web Site, and only one Lovelock in 1901, whose details are given below.

Some Irish data may be available on subscription websites, such as Ancestry, Findmypast, and The Genealogist, and their collections are also added to from time to time.

As well as the life events transcribed below, there are five 'Descendant Fragments' which have been assembled from data here and on other pages in this Web Site.

There are Lovelocks born in Ireland recorded in each US Census from 1850 onwards.

For some of the entries in the table below links to the relevant entries in the appropriate family tree on the Webtrees Web Site are provided.
