12 Dec 2025: The following Descendant Trees were updated, to make them consistent with their corresponding gedcom files on the Webtrees site. In each case the number of individuals in the tree has not changed compared to the previous version, but the update takes into account a number of editorial amendments and additions, such as Census entries, precise dates for some events and elimination of errors and typograhical mistakes.

12 Dec 2025: The Descendant Tree for the Farnham Tree has been updated, to make it consistent with the gedcom file on the Webtrees site. The tree now includes 631 descendants of the progenitor (of whom 244 are Lovelocks), compared to 629 and 242 respectively in the previous version. The table on the Surrey Lovelock Family Trees page has been updated accordingly. The updated version of the gedcom file, which corresponds to that on the Webtrees site, can be downloaded from the gedcom files page.

10 Dec 2025: The Descendant Tree for the Lambeth-Australia and New Zealand Tree has been updated, to make it consistent with the corresponding gedcom file on the Webtrees site. The number of descendants of the progenitors is now 692 (of whom 253 are Lovelocks) compared to 689 and 252 respectively in the previous version. The table on the London and Middlesex Lovelock Family Trees page has been updated accordingly. The number of descendants of the progenitor is now 629 (of whom 306 are Lovelocks) compared to 616 and 285 respectively in the previous version. The tables on the Gloucestershire Lovelock Family Trees and Wiltshire Lovelock Family Trees pages have been updated accordingly. 9 Dec 2025 The Descendant Tree for the St Pancras (Main) Tree has been updated, to make it consistent with the gedcom file on the Webtrees site. The tree now includes 702 descendants of the progenitor (of whom 340 are Lovelocks) compared to 701 and 340 respectively in the previous version. 6 Dec 2025: The Descendant Tree for the Aldermaston Tree has been updated, to make it consistent with the gedcom file on the Webtrees site. The tree now includes 575 descendants of the progenitor of whom 250 are Lovelocks (or variants of the surname), compared to 570 and 248 respectively in the previous version. The table on the Berkshire Lovelock Family Trees and Fragments page has been updated accordingly. 5 Nov 2025 The Descendant Tree for the Wherwell Tree has been added; it is consistent with the gedcom file on the Webtrees site. The tree includes 253 descendants of the progenitor (of whom 121 are Lovelocks). The table on the Hampshire Lovelock Family Trees and Fragments page has been updated accordingly. A gedcom file encompassing the former Hampshire-Suffolk-Rutland-Herefordshire Tree and the Wherwell Fragment, which corresponds to that on the Webtrees site, can be downloaded from the gedcom files page.
5 Nov 2025: On 21 October 2025 Brian Homewood suggested that the Thomas Lovelock who was presented at the time as the progenitor of the Hampshire-Suffolk-Rutland-Herefordshire Tree was also the Thomas Lovelock baptised in 1743 in Wherwell, Hampshire. That Thomas makes no further appearance in the Wherwell records, there is no record of the Thomas in the Twyford records before the marriage in 1771 to Lydia Carter, and there are several coincidences between Wherwell and Twyford records regarding the naming of children. In consequence the Wherwell Fragment and the Hampshire-Suffolk-Rutland-Herefordshire Tree have been merged and the name changed to the Wherwell Tree to reflect the new primogeniture.
31 Oct 2025 The Descendant Tree for the Lieflock Line has been updated, to make it consistent with the gedcom file on the Webtrees site. The tree now includes 4535 descendants of the progenitor (of whom 1684 are Lovelocks) compared to 4161 and 1555 respectively in the previous version. 31 Oct 2025: On 18 October 2025 Frances Hudson in New Zealand, a member of what we then termed the Tonbridge Tree, revealed that her DNA test had identified a match to Cyanne Green, a member of the Lieflock Line. Frances further revealed that she had made contact with 5 other New Zealand residents whose DNA tests had also revealed matches to members of the Lieflock Line. Since all 6 could trace their lineage back to Levi Lovelock, the then progenitor of the Tonbridge Tree, this indicated that Levi must also be a member of the Lieflock Line. Further consideration suggested that Levi was very probably the same person as the Leaver Lovelock baptised at Easton Royal in 1768. After his baptism Leaver does not appear in the Easton Royal records again, and there are no mentions of Levi in any records before his marriage to Maria Foreman in 1793 in Tonbridge. In consequence the Tonbridge Tree material has all been added to the Lieflock Line file, with the amendment of the significant character’s name to Leaver (or Levi) Lovelock. The Tonbridge Tree has been deleted from the 'Kent Trees' page and a note added there to explain the action that has taken place.

It can be accessed from a link at the bottom of the page providing details of the earliest Lovelock records from each English County, which in turn can be accessed from the link at the top of the page providing Historical Data on the Distribution of Lovelocks in England and Wales through the 'Miscellaneous' drop-down menu.
19 Apr 2025 The Descendant Tree for the Tonbridge, Kent Tree has been updated, to make it consistent with the gedcom file on the Webtrees site. The tree now includes 431 individuals (of whom 156 are Lovelocks) compared to 428 and 154 respectively in the previous version. The table on the Kent Lovelock Family Trees page has been updated accordingly. 7 Apr 2025 Further to the message of 20 March below it is believed that all of the links from this Web Site to any of the gedcoms in Webtrees have now been restored, with the exception of links in the Log Files which have not been maintained for some considerable time. The Webtrees suite of gedcoms is now complete, including both the Tonbridge and the Glamorgan Lovelucks files. If you do find any links which still do not work please send a message to the Discussion Group.
23 Mar 2025 A page providing details of Lovelocks and Lovelucks who were registered as Midwives was added. The details can be accessed through a link on the page that addresses Occupations taken up by Lovelocks and Lovelucks as recorded in various Census Returns.
20 Mar 2025 The Webtrees file of Lovelock Family Trees has been restored. All of the gedcoms have been reinstalled, with the exception of that for the Tonbridge Tree which presently is for some reason incompatible with the Webtrees software. The Tonbridge Descendant Tree on this Web Site is unaffected. The format for identifying individuals and families is different in this version of Webtrees compared to the format we were using up to 8 March. In consequence NONE of the links from this Web Site to any of the gedcoms in Webtrees will work until amendments have been made.
9 Mar 2025 It is suspected that our Webtrees file of Lovelock Family Trees has become the victim of a cyber attack, and has in consequence been taken off-line. All of the gedcoms have been copied, as at 8 March 2025, so all of the data is safe, although obviously not easily accessible. As and when a recovery of the situation is achieved notification will be sent to the Discussion Group and a further message posted here.

6 Jan 2025: A page providing information on Lovelocks who at one time or another were less than fortunate in their living arrangements was added. Some are mentioned in the Archive of the London Foundling Hospital and what is known of them has been included. There is also an introduction to the subject of Lovelocks who experienced one aspect of the Victorian system of social care - the Workhouse. The new page may be accessed from the paragraph at the head of the page on Notable and Noteworthy Lovelocks .
